HEALTHY PLACES NC

is a place-based initiative of the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust aimed at improving the health and overall quality of life for people in rural areas of North Carolina Beaufort, Burke, Halifax, McDowell, Rockingham, and Edgecombe-Nash counties,.

Our goal is to have a real impact on major health challenges for the long term. Projects to improve health will be locally led.

See the Healthy Places NC Fact Sheet here.

COMMUNITY COLLEGES AS CHANGE AGENTS

can directly influence their communities through the provision of services and educational instruction directly to those most closely aligned with the campus - the students who attend the institution and the faculty and staff who work there.

Colleges can provide a wide variety of services to the communities they serve as an extension of their educational mission.
